How long does it take for my doctor to get my test results?
Most of the time, we can get you your test results within 24 to 48 hours. We will notify you by phone and ask you to come in only if necessary.
Will my insurance cover my tests and procedures?
DanHope Radiology Services accepts most insurance carriers except those for whom we are not an approved provider. It’s a good idea to contact your provider to confirm that your service is covered and what the cost will be for you.
Do ultrasounds, x-rays, and mammograms hurt?
No, ultrasounds and x-rays do not hurt. You may feel pressure during the procedure, but not pain. Mammograms can hurt, but it depends on how sensitive your tissue is and if there is pain, it is only for a few seconds while the image is being captured.
Will I be able to drive myself home after the procedure?
Yes, radiology tests and procedures do not inhibit your ability to drive.
How long will my appointment take?
It depends on the type of exam you are having and if you are having more than one type of procedure or exam in the same visit. They can be as short as 15 minutes or up to 90 minutes or longer. You will know ahead of time approximately how long your appointment will be.
Are all these radiology services safe?
You will be exposed to some radiation, but the levels are low enough that the benefits far outweigh the risks. We do shield all areas that do not need to be exposed with a lead apron.
How should I dress for my appointment?
Please come in comfortable, loose fitting clothing and avoid anything with metal (jewelry, belt buckles, underwire, etc).
